WestEd and the California Department of Education worked with numerous organizations and several parents throughout the state of California to gather opinions and information regarding preschool age children, their needs, and the needs of the families overall. The hope was to establish a better understanding of where the state of California stands with regard to families with preschool age children and how they can be helped going forward.
