The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) has launched a two-year initiative to develop an Early Childhood Education Teaching Performance Assessment (ECE CalTPA) for the teacher level permit candidate. The assessment provides ECE teacher candidates opportunities to demonstrate their competency of the teacher level permit Teaching Performance Expectations (TPEs). Programs who participate learn how to embed the assessment into their coursework and practicum experiences, prepare their faculty and supervising teachers to support candidates as they engage in the process, and join a dynamic and energized ECE learning community. To express interest in participating, ECE programs are invited to complete this survey: https://forms.office.com/r/Q7Gg97mt7t. The broad participation of early childhood programs across the spectrum of learning settings will provide the opportunity to develop an authentic and meaningful assessment process. Please join the effort!
