Are you a leader in a child care center or family child care home? If so, you may be receiving an online survey to help inform the Preschool Development Grant Birth Through Five (PDG) Needs Assessment.
One of the key activities required for the PDG is to develop a comprehensive statewide needs assessment, which is being led by the American Institutes for Research (AIR). The AIR is working with the California Department of Education to collect information from providers in different settings. You may receive a phone or email invitation from the AIR asking you to participate in this survey that includes questions on operating hours, children enrolled, vacancies, funding sources, facilities, and other relevant information. Please know that this information will be carefully protected, as is governed under the AIR’s Institutional Review Board and data governance procedures, as well as the federal data privacy requirements under the PDG.
The provider survey will be sent out to a designated sample size of providers to ensure appropriate representation of the mixed-delivery system throughout various regions in the state, so your program may or may not be sent a survey link. If you do receive an invitation to participate, please take a few minutes to complete this critical but confidential survey. Thank you for your participation!
